Bird House

SMITHSONIAN’S NATIONAL ZOO AND CONSERVATION BIOLOGY INSTITUTE

SCOPE OF WORK

SIE worked closely with the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute to fabricate and install exhibition elements for the new bird house, which opened in March 2023. The exhibition focuses on migratory birds of the Americas. SIE created large-scale graphic murals, bronze 3D tactile sculptures, and a “flyway” of 250 bird silhouettes that hang from the ceiling.
