Scope of Work
Smithsonian Exhibits worked with the Office of Visitors Services to design, produce and install a series of new signs and maps of Washington DC to assist visitors with navigation while the Smithsonian Castle is closed. Many visitors do not realize that Smithsonian, is the world’s largest museum complex, with approximately 157 million artifacts and specimens in its trust for the American people. Most of our museums are in the Washington, D.C., area with two in New York City. By creating the “Scan/Plan/Go campaign, SIE is assisting millions of visitors a year navigate the institution. The new maps assist with navigation around Washington DC and help visitors anticipate the distances between the museums.
